Summary
Works closely with attorneys and staff teams to provide client support via expertise in calendaring/docketing, court rules, case research, legal procedures, court rules and risk management compliance issues related to calendaring and court functions. Maintains court docket and may serve as liaison between attorneys and courts. Ensures that all docketing dates and deadlines are met for assigned attorneys, groups and/or offices.
Location
This position is remote. Candidates should reside within reasonable commuting distance to the home office and must be based in one of the following offices: San Diego, Los Angeles, Palo Alto, San Francisco or Phoenix. Candidates are required to work west coast hours.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all docketing dates and deadlines are met for assigned attorneys, groups and/or offices.
- Extract, calculate, enter and update due dates, case and docket information through review of court mail, departmental email and assignment from department supervisor, attorney or attorney liaison.
- Monitor and apply court rules and calendaring protocols for courts across the country and prepares various reports to notify attorneys of upcoming deadlines and case status.
- Keep current with best practices regarding docketing, calendaring, and recordkeeping as they related to risk management in the legal environment.
- Research, navigate, search and retrieve information on litigants, judges and case information from court-related databases to include Pacer, Bloomberg, Westlaw and court websites.
Desired Skills Strong computer skills. Strong organizational skills required. Good communication and interpersonal skills required to interact with staff and attorneys on a regular basis. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of court e-filing and proficiency in docketing systems such as CompuLaw, Melana or CourtAlert.
Minimum Education - High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Years of Experience - 4 years' experience in docketing
Preferred Years of Experience - 6 years' experience in docketing

The firm's expected hiring range for this position is $40.39 - $64.23 per hour depending on the candidate's geographic market location. Non-exempt positions will be paid on an hourly basis and paid overtime in accordance with applicable laws.
The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate's experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
