Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Organization: New York Imaging (NYI) Hours:5 - 8.5 Hour shifts between 8-6 M-F

In This Role, You Will:

• Follow all New York Imaging policies and procedures.
• Update and maintain all electronic patient records
• Record patient information such as vital signs, weight and changes in medical history prior to each appointment
• Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
• Assist in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed
• Start and Maintain IV's for Radiology procedures including but not limited to CT, PET and MRIs.
• Record patient intake including updating allergies, medication reconciliation, immunizations and smoking status.
• Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests
• Assist physician with exams as needed
• Perform phlebotomy and collect other lab specimens as ordered by provider
• Perform basic lab tests including Istats, PT/INR, Glucose, urine pregnancy tests along with collection of urine analysis
• Administer and document medication under a physician's order and follow the five (5)medication rights to reduce the potential for medical error.

We Require:

• Valid New York State LPN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYI locations for patient care needs
