  • We are currently seeking a full-time Family Practice Medicine Chair for our MeridianMD office located in Richmond, Indiana. 4 days a week, 10 hour days with admin time built in each day.

The Family Practice Medicine Chair serves as the clinical director of Meridian s family practice program and shall furnish to Meridian his/her professional services as a general physician which shall include the provision of the full range of general medical services and such administrative, management and other services as may be assigned by Meridian. Responsible for providing and managing pediatric medical services including assessing and managing infant, child, and adolescent patients following standards and practices established by Meridian Health Services. The Chair will be a member of a medical care team in accordance with NCQA - Patient Centered Medical Home standards.

Family Practice Medicine Chair Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive pediatric care including performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, prescribing and administering medical treatment and medications
  • Serves as a member of the clinical team at assigned service locations and in that capacity will review/approve treatment plans and other medical or clinical documents as requested
  • Provide(s) consultation as needed to enhance services for Meridian patients;
  • Works cooperatively with Meridian professional staff in establishing clinical care standards and with other clinical staff committees as requested.
  • Provides direct billable service hours in accordance with established center performance standards;
  • Completes all required clinical/service documentation in accordance with the center's established medical/clinical records standards;
  • Participates in center staff development and in-service training programs.
  • Maintains an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Indiana and demonstrates current competence in accordance with the center's professional staff bylaws and credentials/privileges requirements.
  • Maintains clinical staff privileges at area hospitals if required; Other duties as assigned and appropriate to the position such as attending Meridian medical staff meetings.

We are seeking Family Practice Medicine Chair candidates with the following qualifications:

  • M.D. or D.O degree required.
  • Current valid Indiana license.
  • Completion of a three (3) year residency in Family or Internal Medicine
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family or Internal Medicine
  • ACLS, BLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO and PALS as required for specialty.
  • Meets all requirements in order to obtain medical staff membership and required privileges of service.
  • Continuing Medical Education to meet organizational and state licensing requirements.
  • Valid driver s license, a driving record meeting Meridian's driving policy, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance required
