Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other federal agencies, all over the world.nnThe Construction Superintendent will oversee the construction of a cogeneration power plant at NAVFAC’s Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC.nnOur salary range for this position, based on the market data, is $100k to $140k per annum (range varies depending on experience and qualifications).nnKey responsibilities:nnConduct daily inspections and maintain a written log documenting areas/operations inspected, inspection dates, identified hazards, recommended corrective actions, and dates of corrections.nnAttach safety inspection logs to Contractors' daily production reports.nnConduct mishap investigations and complete required accident reports.nnReport mishaps and near misses promptly.nnLog work-related injuries and illnesses occurring on the project site, and maintain the OSHA's Form 300 on the site safety bulletin board.nnMaintain relevant safety reference material on the job site.nnAttend pre-construction conferences, pre-work meetings, preparatory meetings, and periodic in-progress meetings.nnReview, approve, implement, and enforce Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) and Accident Prevention Plans (APP) for compliance with EM 385-1-1.nnEstablish a Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) Deficiency Tracking System to monitor and resolve outstanding deficiencies.nnEnsure subcontractor compliance with safety and health requirements.nnMaintain a list of hazardous chemicals on site.nnMaintain a weekly list of high-hazard activities, such as energy, equipment, excavation, confined space entry, and elevation.nnProvide and document site safety orientation and indoctrination for Contractor employees, subcontractor employees, and site visitors.nnPerforms other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.nnQualifications to be successful in the role:nnDegree in Engineering or Construction Management Degreenn15 years of progressively responsible experience (eg. Tradesman > Safety Manager > Site superintendent)nnExperience in working on NAVFAC/DoD/Federal Government experience is highly desirednnHaving MEP and/or industrial experience is highly desirablennCertified OSHA 30 and EM 385-1-1nnCompleted the course entitled "Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors" and maintain a current certificatennProficient in both written and verbal EnglishnnStrong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills is requirednnMust lawfully reside in the United States and be eligible for employment (Planate does not sponsor visas or work permits)nnWhy Planate?nnPlanate Management Group is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
