Hybrid Cath/EP: 1
Experience:
RN:
3 years with Cath lab experience
Tech:
3-5 years with Cath lab experience
First-time traveler:
RN: Yes
Tech: Yes, only with 5+ more years of Cath lab experience in large 200+facility
Strong Cath Lab RN or Tech; EP experience is preferred
Average cases: 1-16/day; dependent on the days of the week
Patient Types:
Cath: STEMI/NSTEMI; Angioplasty/Angiography, ASD, PFO, right/left heart Cath, thrombectomy
EP: Pacemakers, generator changes, loop recorders, ICD lead revisions, cardioversions
EP cases 1 day/week
Covid & PPE:
Patients are tested the day of or 24h prior to procedure
Urgent/Emergent cases are tested in the ED
Staff is to wear full PPE gear until results are known
Patient Ratios:

Required Certifications:
RN:
Required: BLS, ACLS
Tech:
Required: CVT, BLS, ACLS
Preferred: RCIS, RTR-must have Cath lab experience
Skills required
RN:
Required: Monitor/circulate, moderate/conscious sedation, cardiac rhythm interpretation, patient recovery after sedation
Tech:
Required: Monitor, pan, scrub, sheath pull
Preferred: IABP (assist cardiologist with placement), EP, Rotor blade, PFO, knowledgeable in complex cases

Orientation:
2 days of orientation
1st day: Meet with educator (badge, login access, computer-based learning, compliance check list)
2nd day: on the unit training with preceptor
Based on experience and comfort level
Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: On call only (see call schedule)
M-F schedule
Shift time: (M-F)
0730-1600
On call:
Self-scheduling following the weekday/weekend guidelines
Weekday (Mon-Thurs)
2-3/week
After shift- 1600-0730
Weekend (Fri-Sun):
Every 4th weekend
Fri- 1600-0730 Mon
Response Time:
30 min (required)

Make reservations with the House Supervisor either the day of call or in advance (recommended)
