Position Summary:

As a Physical Therapist, you will evaluate patient functions and implement effective treatments to enhance or restore their abilities. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide education and clinical training to students.

Education/Certification:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program with at least a B.S. degree.
  • Current Connecticut Physical Therapy license required.

Competencies:

  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Windows-based programs needed for department tasks.
  • Basic keyboarding skills; familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary for travel between multiple work sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Evaluating patients according to departmental standards.
  2. Modifying evaluations based on individual patient symptoms and medical status.
  3. Implementing personalized therapeutic exercises and modalities.
  4. Educating patients and families on home exercise programs.
  5. Determining discharge readiness when treatment goals are met.
  6. Documenting patient care in line with insurance guidelines.
  7. Fostering interdepartmental communication for optimal patient care.
  8. Supervising at least one affiliated student annually.
  9. Continuing education to enhance treatment techniques.
  10. Participating in departmental and community training sessions.
