Operations Leader (ON-SITE)

Kitchener, ON

Fulltime, Permanent


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:


  • Responsible for ensuring the smooth and effective day-to-day functioning of Branch operations (e.g. budgeting, workflow and resource allocation, CSR and team performance management, recruitment and onboarding, training, etc.).
  • Clearly and effectively communicate corporate objectives formally and informally to the team through proactive one-on-one coaching, regular team meetings (“huddles”), and email/electronic communication.
  • Conduct regular structured formal branch meetings 3-4 times per year with the Sales Team (TSRs and/or BDMs) and Operations Team’s (CSRs) participation, in compliance with ISO requirements.
  • Ensure continued compliance with all ISO–9001 and Health & Safety standards, including appropriate Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) representation, workplace inspection, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Manage performance and career planning for direct reports by following CB’s performance management processes and HR guidelines; including providing coaching and guidance, training, and support as required.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to manage profit and loss targets, set pricing strategies, and engage in strategic planning for large quotations.
  • Ensure compliance with all CB inventory management processes (e.g. cycle counts, non-stock reports, min/max, core and customer contract inventory as applicable, etc.).
  • Ensure adherence to and delivery of customer contract requirements.
  • Effectively investigate and resolve employee, customer, or vendor complaints/incidents in a timely manner with tact and diplomacy, escalating issues appropriately, as necessary.
  • Provide effective leadership to the Branch team; actively role-model CB’s culture and values; inspire engagement and effective team collaboration.


WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO OUR TEAM:


  • Post-secondary degree or diploma, with a focus in business or a technical discipline preferred.
  • 5 years’ people management experience.
  • Experience interacting with all levels of the organization as well as customers.
  • 5-10 years’ experience with the distribution industry; knowledge of MRO industry, and related products and services are a strong asset.
  • Experience in sales is a strong asset.
  • Mechanical aptitude is an asset
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite / Office 365
  • Effective people management and talent development skills
  • Effective leadership, coaching, and teambuilding skills
  • Practical knowledge of coaching for performance (i.e. providing constructive feedback, identifying knowledge and skills gaps, and developing performance plans)
  • Active listening skills
  • Evidence-based decision making

  • Organization and time management
  • Bilingual in French and English an asset (or as required by region).
