Health and Safety Specialist (Occupational Health & Safety Advisor)

Location: Delta, BC (Annacis Island) - local only candidates at this time!

Salary range is $60-75K (you must be ok with this range to be considered)

Our client is looking for a Health and Safety Specialist. This position will be responsible for championing a safety-first culture by actively engaged in mentoring, coaching and training employees about safety prioritization within the facility. Responsibilities will include updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), developing safety manuals and policies, developing safety campaigns, investigating safety incidents, lead safety meetings to name a few.

Requirements:

• 3+ years in a Health & Safety similar position.
• Common Safety Orientation (CSO) and Advanced Occupational First Aid (OFA) certifications.
• Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license.
• Certified (or working towards) a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is desired.
• Knowledge of return-to-work programs.
• Experience implementing Health & Safety systems and programs.
• Hands-on experience leading changes, safety audits, WorkSafe claims, incident analysis and conducting Hazards and Risk assessments.
• Excellent communication skills.
