Job Summary: This role, reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, provides clerical support for inbound and outbound logistics operations. It involves coordinating inventory management and transportation activities to ensure timely deliveries and cost-efficiency. The position supports various logistical functions including sourcing, receiving, purchasing, and dispatching. A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Order Processing & Coordination:
- Process daily orders in SAP according to the schedule report.
- Coordinate with carriers for daily pick-ups and ensure timely shipments.
- Collaborate with the QC department for necessary QC releases.
- Prepare shipping documents in SAP (e.g., Packing Slip/BOL, Proforma/Customs invoices).
- Communication & Support:
- Address email and phone inquiries promptly.
- Provide feedback on late orders to the Selig CSR.
- Assist with export documentation (Smart Border or manual for international shipments).
- International & Domestic Shipments:
- Arrange bookings for full container/LCL shipments with carrier forwarders 2-3 weeks before the scheduled ship date.
- Prepare B13 and other required documents for international orders.
- Assist with shipments and coordinate with forklift operators for loading.
- Logistical Operations:
- Process UPS shipments and provide tracking numbers to the appropriate personnel.
- Schedule weekly scrap trailer swaps with the carrier.
- Resolve customer complaints within the standard response time.
- Additional Support Functions:
- Assist in receiving and labeling raw materials in SAP.
- Support new employee training in the shipping/receiving department.
- Provide updates to the Logistics Supervisor on daily shipments and issues.
- Help develop and implement SOPs for the shipping department.
- Assist in obtaining freight quotes and reducing costs.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Post goods issues in SAP when shipments depart.
- Scan and save shipping documents on the backup server immediately after departure.
Qualification Requirements:
- 1-3 years of shipping or equivalent experience.
- Some tariff code experience or knowledge preferred.
Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum grade 12 education.
- College or university courses related to Supply Chain preferred.
Skills:
- Ability to effectively understand and communicate information both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Strong attention to detail with good organizational skills to prioritize workload and achieve daily objectives.
- Strong mathematics skills.
- SAP experience is an asset.
- Strong data entry and accuracy skills for precise document preparation.
- Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced environment.
- Good/positive attitude.
