Overview:


As an Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility Lead, you will lead the development and implementation of the corporate inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility plan and roadmap. The position will research, enhance, and advance the IDEA strategy, vision, program, and overall culture throughout the corporation.

You are responsible for managing, coaching, and communicating MPI‘s IDEA programming to enable a diverse, inclusive, and respectful work environment for all employees and foster a culture of inclusion and belonging.


Responsibilities:


  • Work with teams to assess and analyze existing programs, practices, and processes with the goal of eliminating potential barriers and fostering inclusivity.
  • Conduct assessments and audits to identify gaps and opportunities related to IDEA initiatives.
  • Research of best practices, analyzing data, understanding gaps and opportunities, strengths, and weaknesses with MPI’s IDEA programming.
  • Develop guiding principles, roles and responsibilities and governance models (as applicable); identify change impacts and stakeholder needs.
  • Responsible for program delivery, including end-to-end ownership of the corporate IDEA programming from planning to delivery, in alignment with the IDEA strategy and roadmap/schedule.
  • Proactive project management and planning to ensure all activities take place as planned, risks are identified, mitigation efforts are explored and when additional support is needed requests are made in a thoughtful, timely manner.
  • Research trends, legislative changes, and leading practices in other jurisdictions and private industry.
  • Partner with external stakeholders (brokers, repair shops, recruitment agencies etc.) to learn and grow MPI’s IDEA practices.
  • Partner with the Respectful Workplace Specialist to support leaders to model and have respectful conversations with employees on inclusionary behaviours and increase awareness of IDEA.
  • Facilitate and attend workshops, working committees, learning sessions and presentations that promote IDEA as required.
  • Chair and/or participate in various committees to ensure IDEA is imbedded into MPI’s culture & policies.


Qualifications:


  • University degree in Business and/or Public Administration, Commerce, Communication, Psychology, Social Sciences, and/or Education or equivalent.
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR).
  • Prosci Change Management Certificate.
  • Six years of related experience in:

Designing, implementing, and/or executing IDEA programs.

Employee engagement and experience processes.

Using technology and data to advance people & culture programs or projects.


  • Project management; experience managing multiple programs and/or projects.
  • Strong knowledge of employment equity and human rights legislation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion and understanding of challenges faced by employment equity and diverse groups.
  • Possess up-to-date knowledge and understanding of Indigenous communities, cultures, traditions, and issues.
  • Must be willing and able to travel locally.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Access to a personal vehicle.
