Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced HR and Safety Generalist to oversee the full spectrum of human resources and safety responsibilities. This intermediate-level role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with 5–10 years of experience who can balance employee relations, compliance, and workplace safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources (HR) Responsibilities:
- Manage the full cycle of recruitment, including posting jobs, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and onboarding new hires.
- Develop and implement performance management systems, including regular evaluations and feedback processes.
- Administer and oversee employee benefits programs.
- Provide guidance to leadership on employee relations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and workplace policies, updating procedures as required.
- Lead offboarding processes, including exit interviews and termination procedures.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety orientations for all new employees, ensuring compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed safety records, including incident reports, inspection logs, and audit documentation.
- Perform regular workplace safety inspections and coordinate audits to identify and address potential hazards.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA/WorkSafe and other relevant safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Safety, or a related field (preferred).
- 5–10 years of experience in a combined HR and safety role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, workplace safety regulations, and HR best practices.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage employees and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certification such as CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional) or CRSP (Certified Safety Professional) is an asset.
