Corridor 109 is hiring a General Manager / Sommelier to be part of our restaurant opening team!

The position is an exciting multifaceted role overseeing a 12-seat tasting menu, open-kitchen, elevated cuisine restaurant. The position will also assist in overseeing Bar 109 which is a front facing wine and cocktail bar. The ideal candidate will have restaurant management experience and at minimum, be versed in wine and beverage service. We are seeking exceptional candidates for our small team with a roll up your sleeve, lead by example attitude. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work under the direction of the Chef / Owner Brian Baik to manage daily operations of the fine dining restaurant
  • Assist in overseeing Bar 109, a separate, front facing bar component
  • Work and manage service for the restaurant component
  • Staff training and scheduling
  • Selling and talking about wine with customers, also knowledge of the food, current menu, ingredients, explaining dishes to guests, and training staff to do so
  • Beverage ordering, cellar organization, beverage inventory tracking on Excel
  • Reconcile and audit of tip pool, with daily recording and calculations
  • Assist with customer reservations
  • Ensure policies are upheld
  • Other responsibilities as part of the day-to-day operations

 
Requirements:

  • Team player, no ego, no task too small attitude. Must have strong principles and integrity
  • Minimum 3 years of restaurant experience, minimum 1 year of beverage experience, 1 year of management experience. The right person and personality is more important to us than a pedigree of experience.
  • Desire to grow in wine and sake knowledge, and be a part of service.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills with focus on guest experience.
  • Passion and interest in food, elevated dining, particularly seafood.
  • Must have full schedule availability
