Senior Director, 3PL Operations


Reporting to: SVP Logistics & Fulfillment

Location (On-Site): Central/Northern New Jersey; Greater Los Angeles area

Profile:

The Senior Director, 3PL Operations at G-III is responsible for ensuring the seamless integration and execution of third-party logistics (3PL) operations in alignment with the company’s strategic business goals, including optimization for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. The Senior Director plays a critical role in fostering strong relationships between 3PL providers and internal stakeholders, driving operational excellence and maintaining a forward-looking operational strategy. This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong background in logistics management, distribution operations, and 3PL partnerships to optimize performance, drive accountability, and maintain alignment across internal and external stakeholders.


Responsibilities:

  • Build and nurture strong, collaborative relationships with 3PL providers, ensuring clear alignment on service levels, operational goals, and performance expectations.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of current 3PL operations to identify areas of improvement and develop strategies to address business challenges.
  • Negotiate effectively with 3PL providers to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes, ensuring cost efficiency and service quality.
  • Serve as the escalation point for resolving operational issues with 3PL partners, Negotiate contracts, service-level agreements, and pricing terms with 3PLs.
  • Address and resolve any service issues, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and processes are adjusted for future improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies for optimizing the use of 3PLs including selecting the right partners, service offerings and geographic coverage
  • Design and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for consistent and efficient communication between 3PL providers and internal stakeholders.
  • Promote alignment and collaboration across brand operators to streamline operations and achieve shared objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that 3PL operations meet the demands of dynamic business needs, particularly during peak seasons or unforeseen challenges.
  • Leverage key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate operational performance, identifying opportunities to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Utilize historical data, current trends, and real-time insights to provide more accurate forecasting and planning for logistics needs.
  • Ensure data flows between G-III and its 3PL providers, providing real-time visibility into shipments, inventory, and other key logistics metrics.
  • Work closely with supply chain, procurement, customer service, and operations teams to ensure that 3PL services meet the needs of the business.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to forecast demand, plan logistics capacity, and ensure alignment between 3PL capabilities and operational requirement
  • Ensure proactive and reactive measures are in place to manage variability in logistics requirements.
  • Lead and mentor a team of direct reports, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and high performance.
  • Build team capabilities to manage complex operational challenges and develop future leaders within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quality management, supply chain or a related field
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in logistics and distribution operations, with at least 8 years in leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of managing 3PL relationships, including negotiating contracts, ensuring accountability, and driving operational improvements.
  • In-depth understanding of both owned facility operations and 3PL environments.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence stakeholders, including seasoned business leaders, to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to assess performance metrics, identify root causes of inefficiencies, and propose effective solutions.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, translating complex operational data into actionable insights.
  • Strategic thinking paired with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and execution.
  • Expertise in establishing and tracking KPIs to ensure alignment with business goals and deliver measurable results.
  • Leadership and people management skills, with a demonstrated ability to build, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
  • Flexibility to travel extensively (40-50%) to 3PL and company-owned facilities, with a focus on West Coast operations.


The pay range for this position is $170,000 - $200,000 per year.

In accordance with law, the expected pay range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
