Position: Electrical/Electronics Technician

Job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Validate vehicle electrical systems and components on vehicles, test bench and automatic tester using existing test procedures. This includes but is not limited to reading and understanding electrical schematics and test procedures, use of shop tools to install/remove vehicle parts, set up electrical test equipment and record required parameters (ex: oscilloscope, digital multi meter, data acquisition logger, PC diagnostic tools, CANalyzer).
Instrument test vehicle as required, install/retrofit components, update software, perform test procedure, gather and analyze test data and report test results to engineers on schedule.
Design/fabricate simple test harnesses and test fixtures using hand tools and soldering station
Support and participate in Public road testing/driving events to evaluate and validate system performance. This position requires good driving record/skills and requires the technician to pass client driving test.
Provide technical support for vehicle testing, including occasional travel between 10%-25% in a month at different times during the year
Successful candidate should be capable of working both independently and in a team setting.
Candidate must be able to work inside the vehicle and under the dash and lift at least 50 lbs.
Candidate shall possess skills in the following areas:
Basic knowledge of automotive electrical system and electrical circuits and components.
Flexible, collaborative, organized, passionate, and friendly mindset
Willing and capable to quickly learn new procedures and use new test equipment
Have basic Electrical wiring, connector, harness creation, and electrical diagram reading skills
Good knowledge of electrical measurement equipment - oscilloscope, digital multi meter, data acquisition logger, PC diagnostic tools a plus
Basic knowledge of CAN communication and ability to use CAN analysis tools is a big plus
Knowledge of automotive components/trim removal/installation
Ability to use shop tools, climb into the vehicle or crawl under the vehicle, to lift vehicle parts up to 50#, remove/install parts and instrumentation
Ability to fabricate simple test harnesses and test fixtures using hand tools and soldering station
Have a good driving record/skills to safely drive test vehicles on test tracks and public roads in various road conditions
Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work comfortably in an environment of diverse cultural backgrounds
Ability to work under a high degree of autonomy and minimal supervision to satisfactorily achieve task objectives
Available for travel within US and abroad.
Need to be able to work in the car and under the dash - left up to 50lb
