Data Science Manager - Credit Risk Modelling

Exciting consumer lending organization

Dallas Fort Worth region

$160,000 to $185,000 base + benefits

Join a cutting-edge consumer lending organization in their search to make credit accessible across millions of customers in the U.S. Their Credit products have reached over 2.5million consumers across the country and have originated over $9n in non-prime credit.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of highly skilled credit data scientists through predictive models and analytical processes to deliver better business performance.
  • Build and deploy advanced ML and AI algorithms/predictive models for use in Underwriting, Customer Management, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Work with the team to analyze large datasets using standardized techniques and methodology by leveraging tools such as Python, Spark & snowflake.
  • Using data manipulation, you and your team will be focused on minimizing credit/fraud losses assessing approval rates as well as developing new methods to enhance the profitability of the products.


Your Skills and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in highly quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or other quantitatively-oriented degree). Ph.D. preferred.
  • An expert knowledge of both credit risk and the consumer lending fields. The ideal candidate will have experience across data science/decision science/credit risk modeling within a consumer lending/bank.
  • Proven experience working in fast-paced environment with ever-changing demands
  • Demonstrated proficiency with end to end machine learning techniques (e.g., Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, LASSO, Elastic Net).
  • Proficiency with Python or Java.
  • Experience with database technologies such as Snowflake
  • Knowledge of supervised and unsupervised ML techniques would be a plus!
