About the Role (job title and summary) :
The Security Manager oversees the protection of company personnel and assets, act as the businesses first responders in case of customer illness or injury and monitor the premises to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and the surrounding community. This position also aids in creating an exceptional customer experience.
How you’ll make a difference (required duties and responsibilities) :
- Deliver exceptional customer service to dispensary customers.
- Protects company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Monitors and controls building access.
- Monitors alarm systems, video cameras, and detection equipment.
- Observes for signs of crime or disorder and investigate issues or disturbances
- Acts lawfully using force in the direct defense of life or property.
- Writes incident reports relating to criminal, medical, or nuisance activity.
- Ensure all incidents are recorded in the security log and key information is passed to relief guards during shift transitions.
- Investigates and reports on suspicious incidents.
- Patrols building and perimeter of assigned dispensaries and cultivation facilities.
- Ensures that security leads and the facility agents who provide premise security complete all necessary training.
- Conducts a semiannual audit of security measures to ensure compliance and to identify potential security risks and issues.
- Trains employees on security measures, emergency response, theft prevention and response within one (1) week of hiring and on an annual/recurring basis.
- Evaluates the credentials of any contractors who intend to provide services to the facility before the contractor is hired by or enters a contract with the facility.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills to be Successful (minimum qualifications) :
- Five (5) or more years of experience in law enforcement, security, or guard role.
- Two or more years of experience working in a first responder role preferred
- Proven ability to monitor multiple screens simultaneously; and assess situations based on video footage.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certification preferred.
- Possession of valid State security guard credentials (guard card) where required
- Must pass all required background checks, certifications, and affiliation requirements.
- Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have strong organizational skills, high attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
- Prior LEO or military experience is preferred.

Manufacturing environment that requires extended time standing, walking, bending and reaching. The ability to carry up to 50lbs for up to a distance of 100ft may be required. Occasional extended and repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects. Ability to work in a humid and pollinated environment.
