Position Summary:
We are looking for an accomplished and forward-thinking leader to serve as the Head of Cell Biology and Assay Development, playing a critical role in advancing our oncology drug discovery initiatives. This individual will bring a proven ability to develop assays that validate target activity, drive lead molecule selection, and support optimization efforts. Prior experience with protein-protein interaction (PPI) targets, including transcription factors, and expertise in "beyond rule of 5" molecules such as peptidomimetics, are highly desirable. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead at the forefront of innovative science and therapeutic development. If you are a visionary leader in cell biology and assay development with a passion for pioneering breakthroughs in oncology, we invite you to join our team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and establish Tier 1 (primary screening) and Tier 2 (mechanistic) assays for PPI targets in oncology.
- Develop and implement advanced cell-based and biochemical assays, including pharmacodynamic (PD) marker assays and target engagement assays, to support drug discovery efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including medicinal chemistry, computational biology, and pharmacology, to align objectives and strategies in drug discovery.
- Lead the analysis, interpretation, and presentation of complex biological datasets to inform lead optimization and preclinical development decisions.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 5 years of postdoctoral experience in cell biology, assay development, and oncology research, with a preference for candidates with industry experience.
- Deep understanding of the drug discovery process, particularly in oncology, including workflows for compound testing, prioritization, and lead optimization.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and validating cell-based and biochemical assays, with a strong ability to correlate in vitro findings with in vivo outcomes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of cell signaling and signal transduction pathways in oncology.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex scientific data to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
This role offers an exciting leadership opportunity to shape the future of oncology therapeutics through groundbreaking scientific discovery.
