The Junior Attorney, Contentious Support – Tampa will become a part of the Contentious Support Group, to work on litigation, investigations, regulatory and transactional matters and other multijurisdictional projects that are cross-border in nature, high value and complex; and develop skills to deliver the highest quality service for our world-class clients across the globe.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to a variety of the Firm's practices, with a focus on assignments involving the North America Broker-Dealer Regulation Team
- Assist the Firm's offices with a diverse range of matters, often across multiple jurisdictions, such as large scale regulatory advice and disclosure and investigation projects, reports, and ancillary deliverables in support of disputes work
- Work as part of project teams with other attorneys and paralegals in the Tampa Center
- Escalate project-specific issues to the Associate Director, Contentious Support Group, as appropriate
- Work with members of the Contentious and Transactional Support Groups in the Firm's Belfast Center, in a "one team" approach
- Assist with bespoke projects, other than billable matters, as required
- Develop strong working relationships with partners and associates in all sectors/departments in a variety of jurisdictions
- Contribute to the identification of innovative services and methods to assist in achieving efficiencies and continual process improvement
- Work with and provide support to other functional teams within the Tampa and Belfast Centers
- Develop innovative use of IT platforms and know-how databases
Skills and Experience:
- Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and status in good standing. Florida bar admission required
- A strong level of experience in broker-dealer regulatory matters, particularly with retail securities brokerage
- In-house and/or law firm experience advising brokerage firms on legal and compliance matters, including knowledge of FINRA and SEC Rules
- Experience with securities industry agreements, and an interest in foreign law issues related to the brokerage industry
- Knowledge of investment adviser regulations, a plus
- Strong analytical skills, required

- Strong attention to detail - gets it right first time
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel and online research tools
- Excellent writing and organization skills - used to balancing work priorities and managing deadlines
- Good decision-making and communication skills
