PRIMARY PURPOSE: To develop and implement procedures to ensure timely availability of key data trends for decision-making, identify areas of improvement in department processes, support related Human Resources systems, and contribute to continuous improvements in the operations of the Human Resources department.
Functions include, but are not limited to: analyzing data sets for trends, creating reports and data views for visualization and distribution, evaluating processes and systems for continuous improvements, creating and conducting trainings to share relevant knowledge by presenting and making recommendations to intra- and interdepartmental stakeholders
This position will directly support the functions carried out by the Manager of Position Control / Compensation / Skyward while they are serving as a Strategic Position Control / Compensation Coordinator. This position will work closely with the Human Resources Director and Executive Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Business, Information Systems, Human Resources, or a related field.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong analytical and evaluative skills, with the ability to identify, assess, and resolve problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to analyze complex data and identify trends within data sets.
- Expertise in representing data graphically to highlight key findings for communication and reporting purposes.
- Demonstrate technology proficiency including ability to effectively utilize district Human Resources technology systems, spreadsheets, database programs, and other online systems.
- Strong organizational and project management skills including the ability to exercise judgment, set and manage deadlines and identify challenges and develop while working to find effective solutions.
- Knowledge of policies, regulations, and programs specifically related to Human Resources operations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong ability to summarize findings, make recommendations, and present key information to leaders and stakeholders.
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively, remain calm under pressure, and resolve differences productively.
- Ability to conduct effective training sessions and presentations for other staff as needed.
- Ability to learn quickly and participate in self-taught technical job responsibilities
Minimum Experience:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily.
- Experience analyzing, monitoring, presenting, and reporting data.
- Experience supporting web-based technology systems or databases.
- Experience working in Human Resources or a related area of school district operations.
- Experience working as an instructional leader, facilitator, coordinator, or analysis.
Preferred Experience:
- Advanced proficiency using spreadsheet software such as Excel, Google Sheets, SmartSheets, as well as Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with compensation structures utilized by Texas School Districts
- Experience with Human Resources systems, including Skyward.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Position Control:
- Maintaining district position control system in an accurate and efficient manner.
- Tracking vacancies across the district ensuring primary stakeholders are informed on a weekly basis to facilitate accurate recommendations.
- Developing and sustaining communication with stakeholders to maintain stakeholder engagement and shared understanding.
- Perform frequent data audits to ensure data integrity.
- Enter and maintain position information including but not limited to job titles and job assignment in the position control system.
- Ensuring salary budget codes are accurate for payroll and budgetary purposes.
Compensation:
- Serving as a member or ex officio member of the assigned district’s executive leadership team.
- Coordinating, tracking, and presenting project information to maintain stakeholder engagement and shared understanding across district teams, and other stakeholders.
- Developing and sustaining deep partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Establishing systems and structures to support planning, in alignment with all compensation deliverables.
- Ensuring grant compliance by collaborating within the district, the ESC, and with the TEA and communicating those expectations to all stakeholders of the initiative.
- Developing a system for tracking strategies, identifying best practices, and supporting broader dissemination.
- Researching potential errors to resolve compensation inquiries across the charter.
- Work with other departments to ensure all accounting distribution codes are accurate for employee compensation.
- Creation and ensure yearly Salary Negotiation and Employee Management Plans are 100% for payroll imports and LOA postings.
Skyward (Position Control System):
- Prepare, design reports and create data views to fulfill data reviews.
- Prepare, design reports and create data views to communicate key metrics to stakeholders.
- Identify district and departmental needs and make recommendations for improvements to systems and processes based on data and stakeholder feedback.
- Collaborate with department leadership to define processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement any needed changes.
- Support internal project management within the HR & Employee Services team.
- Share data, findings, and recommendations with district leadership as applicable.
- Identify and participate in continuous improvement efforts related to HR & Employee Services functions, systems, processes, and impact.
- Maintain yearly plans.
- Work in tandem with the Technology Department to ensure all employment assignments result in all system integration.
Skyward Fast Track Application System Administrator:
- Support the system running efficiently and effectively
- Maintain and update codes templates to ensure applicants are engaged in the application experience.
- Assist with year application feature enhancements
- Periodically review candidate codes to ensure workflow efficiency and effectiveness
- Participate in ongoing training and development related to product set-up and features
General:
- Follow federal and state laws as well as School Board policies, rules and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all sensitive data and school/workplace matters.
