We are seeking an experienced Landlord-Tenant Ejection Attorney to join our legal team in the New Jersey particularly in Bergen and Hudson Counties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in landlord-tenant law, specifically in representing landlords in eviction proceedings and other related legal matters. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can handle a high volume of cases and provide exceptional legal services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Eviction Proceedings: Handle all aspects of landlord-tenant ejection cases, including preparing and filing eviction notices, representing clients in court, and ensuring compliance with state and local laws.
- Client Consultation: Provide legal advice and consultation to landlords on tenant disputes, lease agreements, and eviction processes.
- Court Representation: Represent clients in court hearings, mediation, and arbitration related to landlord-tenant disputes.
- Legal Documentation: Draft, review, and negotiate lease agreements, notices, and other legal documents related to landlord-tenant relationships.
- Compliance: Ensure all actions are in compliance with New Jersey state and local laws, including housing codes and fair housing regulations.
- Case Management: Manage a caseload of landlord-tenant cases efficiently, keeping clients informed of case progress and outcomes.
- Dispute Resolution: Assist clients in resolving tenant disputes through negotiation and alternative dispute resolution methods when appropriate.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of changes in landlord-tenant law and regulations in New Jersey to provide accurate and current legal advice.
Qualifications:
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Bar Admission: Active member in good standing of the New Jersey State Bar (and a NY bar a plus)
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing landlord-tenant law, with a focus on representing landlords in eviction proceedings.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of New Jersey landlord-tenant laws.
- Excellent litigation and negotiation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience practicing in Bergen County, NJ, Hudson County, NJ and the surrounding areas.
- Familiarity with local housing courts and procedures.
- Experience with landlord-tenant mediation and arbitration.
- Proven track record of successful case outcomes.
