Position Overview:
We are seeking a Compliance Officer to join our team and oversee all aspects of regulatory compliance within our mortgage operations. The ideal candidate will ensure that the company adheres to all applicable federal, state, and local mortgage regulations, maintain internal policies and procedures, and proactively address potential compliance risks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Regulatory Compliance:
• Stay current with federal and state mortgage regulations, including RESPA, TILA, HMDA, and ECOA.
• Ensure company policies and procedures comply with regulatory requirements.
• Oversee compliance audits and examinations, responding promptly to findings or recommendations.
• Policy Development:
• Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and training programs.
• Provide guidance to staff on regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
• Monitoring & Reporting:
• Conduct periodic risk assessments and internal audits to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
• Report compliance findings to senior management and recommend corrective actions.
• Training & Communication:
• Train employees on compliance policies, procedures, and regulatory updates.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for compliance-related inquiries.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mortgage compliance or a related role.
• In-depth knowledge of mortgage industry regulations and best practices.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
• Certification in compliance (e.g., Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager) is a plus.
