Loss Claims Specialist

Amalgamated Sugar Company – Boise, Idaho


The Amalgamated Sugar Company seeks a Loss Claims Specialist at our corporate office reporting to the Corporate Safety Director. This position provides technical assistance in loss control for injuries and property damage claims. It will also provide administrative support to the Corporate Safety Director.

Additional Responsibilities:

Oversee workers' compensation and property damage claims processes, ensuring timely filing and follow-up.

Work with our third-party administrator and insurance adjusters to resolve claims effectively.

Complete the first report of injury for all medical claims.

Work closely with the medical providers to ensure treated employees receive appropriate and timely care.

Monitor treatment plans and progress, ensuring the employee's injury recovery and return to work goals.

Work with the Modified Duty Safety Administrators, Safety Managers, and Supervisors to gather the needed information related to treated injuries.

Maintain comprehensive records for each treated injury, including the incident investigation, witness statements, medical reports, and other relevant documents.

Ensure operating sites implement the Corporate Modified Duty program to accommodate the employee's medical restrictions.

Communicates orally and in writing. Read and understand oral and written policies, safety and environmental requirements, and other company policies.

Maintain all corporate and location safety files per Company policies and government regulations.

Manage, through a third party vendor, the DOT driver clearinghouse and random drug testing for our CDL employees.

Participate in department meetings and special projects.

Other responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications:

High school degree or equivalent.

Five years’ experience in safety/loss control in a manufacturing environment.

Microsoft experience Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint
