The Case Manager supports Gateway’s executive team with life insurance proposal development and financial modeling for new business prospects, ensuring adherence to HIPAA compliance. This position involves proactive communication with marketers, colleagues, and clients, along with the efficient management of case progression through various CRM systems, particularly during the underwriting process. The Case Manager is integral to driving operational efficiency, managing client relationships, and ensuring the successful execution of business initiatives
This is a salaried role, $60k-$75k plus potential for bonuses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manages the full lifecycle of new business cases from intake to policy issuance, ensuring effective tracking and updates in CRM systems.
• Communicates proactively with carriers, professional advisors, and clients during underwriting, following HIPAA guidelines.
• Collaborates with the Director of Underwriting to facilitate smooth application and underwriting processes.
• Conducts due diligence on carriers, products, and software, assisting in product selection for new business.
• Analyzes market trends, pricing, and product features to recommend optimal solutions for client needs.
• Prepares and presents market analyses, illustrations, and proposals for competitive life insurance solutions.
• Manages in-force life insurance policies, including policy changes, premium payments, and billing.
• Performs audits on existing client insurance portfolios, comparing them to current market options and assessing suitability.
• Supports ongoing policy administration, including in-force illustrations, premium reports, and cash value monitoring.
• Contributes to cross-functional projects, recommending workflow and system improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Engages in ongoing industry education to enhance knowledge and maintain up-to-date skills.
• Manages sensitive documents and confidential information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines with discretion, diplomacy, and integrity.
• Participates in special projects, solely or as a team member.
• Performs other duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, insurance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in life insurance case management or client-facing role.
• Must hold current insurance licenses, including Series 6, Series 63, Agent Life, and Health & Disability.
• Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), Zoom, Salesforce, and other relevant software.
• Comprehensive understanding of life insurance products, underwriting processes, and industry regulations.
• Familiarity with generating new business illustrations, quotes, proposals, and market studies.
• Participation in special projects or initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency or client service.
• Exposure to continuing education programs and involvement in professional associations.

• Skilled in analyzing financial data and risk profiles to develop strategic recommendations, as well as negotiating favorable policy terms.
• Experienced in managing databases, spreadsheets, and documentation, with a commitment to maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and the highest ethical standards.
• Dedicated to continuous professional development, staying current with industry trends and best practices to consistently enhance client satisfaction and service delivery.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
