Job Description

The Company

Everest is a funeral planning and concierge service rolled into a life insurance plan. More than 25 million people across the U.S., Canada and the U.K. have access to Everest Funeral Concierge services as part of their life insurance benefits. We’ve combined state-of-the-art technology, personalized on-demand service, and consumer advocacy to revolutionize traditional funeral planning.

Everest helps guide families through a complicated and emotionally challenging time in their lives by handling all the details of funeral planning, and managing payment from life insurance proceeds. When help is needed, our 24/7 Advisors are one phone call away, ready to personalize the funeral plan, compare and negotiate funeral prices, and work with the insurance company to get monies to the beneficiary, often in as little as 48 hours after death.

Everest services are currently only available as an added benefit of select insurance policies offered by employee group life carriers such as Hartford, Voya, Zurich, Aetna and Chubb, and individual life carriers such as Transamerica, ivari, Mutual of Omaha, and IA American.

Everest is headquartered in Houston, Texas with operating centers in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Toronto, Ontario. Learn more about Everest at and on our Facebook page at

Purpose of the Position

Replacing a highly successful retiring incumbent, the Operations Executive is highly skilled and technically proficient to provide comprehensive support to our company in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role requires a combination of leadership, follow up, project management, technical proficiency, and operational support to ensure effective management of company initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and approvals for marketing and social media topics
  • Provide oversight and guidance for strategic initiatives
  • Participate on special and confidential projects as needed, handling confidential matters and information
  • Make independent decisions, solve problems, and exercise discretion relating to the performance of day-to-day duties
  • Develop and Manage the budget within the areas of responsibility, negotiating for lowest cost, highest value

The Candidate

Experience and Professional Qualifications

  • The executive leads by example in a confident, self-assured, collaborative style
  • Decisive, direct and to the point when providing a response or direction
  • High EQ - ability to understand, use, and manage emotions in positive ways to communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges, and defuse conflict

  • Focus on staff first, and customers second. Enable the staff to impact many more customers than any single leader could ever directly impact
  • “Catch the staff doing something right” -- watches for opportunities to provide feedback, using explicit observations to spotlight what is liked and appreciated as opposed to just saying “good job.”
  • Strong, confident communication skills. Fast results with no delays such as writer’s block or internal debate over how to make a point with velvet gloves. Can quickly crank out documents, responses, and project plans
  • Good at “connecting dots” to make a point

  • Demonstrated success managing a portfolio of clients and strategic initiatives and deliver/exceed desired results

  • Exceptional listening skills; ability to understand subtleties, what is being said/not said and gaining clarity of intent and purpose
  • Possess proficient analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Approachable and accessible

Compensation
