The Position:
The Fleet Rework Engineer serves as primary point of contact for updating and completing outstanding design changes, upgrades, firmware and software update actions across all PV and BESS product line. The affected equipment may be in various stages of its lifecycle from pre-delivery, commissioning, or in operation. This role involves working with the customer and business functions, including contract management, Service and Project Management teams, and HQ.
The responsibilities include scheduling, achieving quality standards, safety, resource management, compliance, and reporting the status of each Rework scope of work to the management. In summary, this role will manage, direct, and supervise a multi-million-dollar project(s) consisting of asset management and updates across both PV and BESS units in various operational lifecycle stages.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicate with customers directly and initiate rework projects, including scheduling, material arrangement and replying to customers' enquiry regarding rework.
- Work with vendors on RFQ and award of the work scope and commercially manage 3rd party work and ensure technical compliance.
- Review and collaborate with HQ on updating rework SOP. Make sure having quality of documentation and clear work instructions being delivered to service vendors
- Coordinate with internal execution teams to ensure proactive rework projects are implemented before commissioning.
- Plan, forecast and secure all materials and resources (inhouse and 3rd party) to execute rework scope of work at various sites and communicate work schedules accordingly with all stakeholders
- Directs subcontractors in executing work activities to include oversight of daily operations, logistics, third party claims, customer service requests, problem and conflict resolution, quality assurance, deliverable submission and other requirements defined under the agreed scope of services.
- Supervise and track vendors' work quality and make sure rework projects are fully completed at projects sites.
- Review daily reports from vendors and vendor invoices corresponding to services provided.
- Strong communication skills and technical skills, ability to learn quickly
- Participate in continual training to increase efficiency and knowledge of current and new products, troubleshooting methods and processes
- Identifies and works with internal teams to provide guidance and support. Works cross functionally with procurement, third party partners, warehouse, regional competency center and field service staff.
- Ability to work well under pressure with multiple projects while demonstrating accountability to achieve results.
- As necessary, travels to the project site to provide direction to supervisors or field personnel to ensure quality standards are met and issues are resolved, and customers are properly supported.
- Anticipate and resolve problems with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent experience
- Preferred experience in the PV and BESS industry
- Strong communication skills with open communication style and proven ability to develop team relationships, including vendors and global teams.
- Ability to manage effectively through high stress conditions.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Strong attention to detail and high accountability culture
- Bilingual in Chinese is a plus
Travel:
10% to 20% travel to project sites for rework projects support or troubleshooting.

For candidates in the states of California, Colorado, New York and Washington, the anticipated annual base salary for this role is between $60,000 - $90,000 This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The base salary offered is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, education, location, or other factors related to the role.
