Job Title: Civil Structural Designer

Job Description:

• This role will support the design development of structural engineering designs for the project by modifying and updating calculations, providing responses to requests for information from the steel fabricator, and providing construction support by responding to field change notices.

Responsibilities:

• Originate structural engineering deliverables, such as steel calculations and specifications.
• Originate structural analysis models using GTSTRUDL or STAAD.
• Aid in review and coordination of technical documents with/from other engineering disciplines.
• Aid in preparing technical reports related to specific design issues.
• Assist in constructability reviews.

Education and Experience:

• Requires a bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering (or related) from an accredited university or college and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.

Required Skills:

• Familiar with structural analysis software such as GTSTRUDL, STAAD, or similar.
• Familiar with the use of Mathcad or similar software.
• Excellent listening, oral and written communication, planning, and organizational skills are essential.
• Experience with CAD applications, such as MicroStation, Tekla, and Navisworks.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Skills:

• Have an Engineering in Training (EIT) Certificate.
• Proficient in the use of Mathcad and GTSTRUDL or similar structural analysis software.
• Thorough knowledge of the provisions of the AISC Steel Manual & ASCE 7.
• Familiar with client standard programs.
• Knowledge of design standards and guides, and client Standard Application Programs
• Basic knowledge of engineering deliverables, such as drawings, specifications, and material requisitions and of construction methods for concrete and steel structures.
• Understand work processes of other disciplines and departments on projects.
