Duration: 12+ Month W2 Contract

Pay: $60-$70/hour

Location: Onsite in Newton, MA

Position Summary: The Senior ElectroMechanical Engineer will play a key role in developing next-generation robotic platforms for healthcare. You'll be responsible for designing and testing complex electro-mechanical systems in a regulated medical device environment. This role involves hands-on development, from prototyping to final testing, with a focus on electromechanical assemblies, fixtures, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electromechanical fixtures for medical robotics systems.
  • Create specifications and manage the development of manufacturing test and build fixtures.
  • Identify and implement improvements in assembly and build processes.
  • Support firmware and software development for fixtures.
  • Document fixture designs and development improvements.
  • Maintain proper test, configuration control, and documentation standards.
  • Work on cross-functional projects, collaborating with different teams.
  • Assist with vendor communication and procurement.
  • Manage projects and communicate progress with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in electromechanical system development.
  • PhD in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in regulated industries like medical devices or aerospace.
  • Hands-on experience in designing, assembling, and testing electro-mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of best practices for electromechanical system development.
  • Experience with CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and statistical tools (e.g., Minitab).
  • Familiarity with MATLAB Simulink or LabView is a plus.
  • Experience in firmware/software development is highly desirable.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office required.
