Job Title: Distribution Designer/ Engineer

Compensation: $22/hr to $48/hr.

Job Description

One of the top AEC firms is seeking to grow their Distribution Modernization team in their Albuquerque, NM office by adding Drafting, Detailing and Designer skill-sets. This is a pivotal role in modernizing electric utility distribution systems. This position involves working with 2D and 3D design tools to develop innovative solutions for distribution infrastructure projects while collaborating with a team of experts and clients in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Engineering:

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D designs for distribution systems using CAD or similar software.
• Create engineering drawings, layouts, and specifications for overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international electric utility standards.

Project Collaboration:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to support distribution modernization efforts.
• Coordinate with clients to gather requirements, present solutions, and address project-specific needs.
• Engage with field teams to implement designs effectively and resolve challenges.

Fieldwork:

• Conduct occasional site visits (10% travel) to assess distribution infrastructure and oversee design implementation.
• Collaborate with HQ teams in the USA as needed (travel fully expensed).

Documentation & Reporting:

• Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and documentation for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of design changes and project milestones.

Required Skills & Experience

• Designer - Level 8 to 10
• 2 to 10 years' experience on Distribution specific projects
