?Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and organized Power Electronics and Battery Lab Technician to operate and maintain our high-tech lab environment. This role involves managing lab materials, ensuring safety and productivity, conducting experiments, and assisting engineers in prototype fabrication. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory management, power electronics, and electrical systems, along with excellent fabrication and organizational skills.
?Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage the lab environment, ensuring tools and materials are stocked, organized, and in good working order.
- Keep workspaces clean and free of unnecessary clutter, regularly discarding outdated or unused materials.
- Implement and enforce lab safety regulations to ensure a safe and productive working environment.
- Run experiments and tests as defined by engineering teams, following established protocols.
- Assist engineers with the creation of prototype parts by following specific instructions.
- Perform hands-on fabrication tasks such as building power supply racks, installing shelves, and wiring thermal chambers.
- Test and troubleshoot power electronics and high-voltage systems, including 240 V AC and 600 V DC, using software control and data logging.
- Write comprehensive test reports and document experiment results accurately.
?Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Senior Lab Technician or Lab Manager in a similar technical field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a focus on maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe lab environment.
- Solid understanding of electricity and comfortable working with high-voltage electrical systems.
- Strong fabrication skills, with the ability to build and modify lab equipment and infrastructure as needed.
- Experience conducting experiments and running tests on power electronics, including high-voltage systems and thermal chambers.
- Proficient in writing detailed test reports and documenting experimental data.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
?Preferred Skills (Optional):
- Experience with specialized testing equipment, software control systems, or automated data logging systems is a plus.
- Previous experience in power electronics or battery testing environments is highly desirable.
?Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a lab environment with high-voltage systems and equipment.
- Comfortable lifting and carrying equipment and materials as needed (up to 50 lbs).
