An innovative fabless semiconductor company is looking for an experienced RF Hardware Engineer to design and develop printed circuit boards (PCBs) for highly integrated monolithic and multi-chip solutions. In this role, the candidate will work on the development of groundbreaking ultra-high-speed RF CMOS SoCs and MCMs for a variety of commercial, military, and aerospace applications. The engineer will collaborate with top-tier experts in IC design, package design, and systems engineering, contributing to the development of cutting-edge hybrid digital/RF receivers and transmitters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Circuit Board Planning:
- Select interface connectors and key active components, as needed
- Define RF signal and DC current requirements
- Predict stack-up configurations and determine RF stripline transmission line layers
- Forward mechanical package information and BGA ballmap
- Circuit Board Design:
- Design boards with analog bandwidths exceeding 40 GHz and digital data rates up to 30 Gbps
- Develop Allegro schematics and symbols
- Manage circuit board layout and implement critical routing changes in Allegro
- Collaborate with team members to ensure board performance and suitability
- Troubleshoot hardware performance issues in the lab
Required Skills and Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in RF hardware engineering is preferred
- Strong understanding of board layout techniques
- In-depth knowledge of transmission line and power supply decoupling routing methodologies
- Experience with Cadence Orcad and Allegro software
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and varying workloads
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or higher
- US citizenship is required
