Job Details

• Shift: Day Shift
• Pay: $31 - $52+ per hour
  

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct quality control inspections of HVAC and plumbing installations to ensure compliance with the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code and other applicable regulations.
• Review contractor work to ensure adherence to specifications and standards for mechanical equipment and systems.
• Develop and implement inspection protocols and documentation processes for quality assurance.
• Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to address and resolve issues related to installations and repairs.
• Monitor ongoing work to ensure it meets safety standards and best practices.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation of inspection findings, including compliance assessments and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Conduct field inspections and site visits, dedicating approximately 75% of your time to hands-on evaluation and assessment of work performed.
• Maintain strong communication with project stakeholders to ensure clarity and understanding of quality standards and expectations.
• Participate in training and orientation for contractors and staff on quality standards and compliance requirements.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing systems, with significant experience in quality control and assurance.
• Valid Master HVAC license and driver's license required.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, including the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
• Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant applications for engineering computations and project documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to conduct inspections in various building types, including single-story, multi-story, and high-rise buildings.
• Capability to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, and crawling, as well as standing or walking for extended periods.
