Morales Group Staffing has an IT Infrastructure Engineer position open for Crecera Brands - a new State of the Art distribution facility opening in Greenfield, Indiana. This is primarily an IT Support position. You will have one administrator reporting to you. You will be interfacing with all employees onsite including the warehouse workers. ABOUT THE POSITION
The IT INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER works independently and in cooperation with the department management plan, coordinates, and implements large information technology (IT). This position will evaluate, implement, facilitate, and maintain the information technology (IT) systems including but not limited to servers, desktops, laptops, applications, and security. This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Infrastructure. This position will also oversee and mentor sys admins.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES.
- Manages server and desktop operating system and application deployments and upgrades. Creates procedures, policies and systems required for operating system and application deployment including packaging applications for deployment.
- Leads IT functions for new server and desktop technology deployments. This includes managing hardware lifecycles and working with management on hardware acquisition.
- Stays current with known system issues pertaining to operating systems or software conflicts.
- Stays current with capabilities of current server and desktop operating systems and end-user devices utilizing research techniques and test lab environments.
- Identifies and troubleshoots problems in a timely manner, provides assistance to the service desk members for complex problems.
- Maintains appropriate communication to the user and/or management until the problem is resolved. Provides on-call, after-hours support as needed.
- Assists in the creation of a strategic roadmap for all server and desktop systems, including making policy recommendations, directions, and timelines, managing approved budgets, analyzing and making recommendations for purchases based on need or lifecycle for hardware and software.
- Acts independently and within ad-hoc teams to identify solutions for end-users so they can be as efficient and effective as possible in their respective roles by leveraging existing system resources and software or researching potential solutions for possible implementation.
- Works with IT staff on the integration of technologies to enhance application and network users’ productivity.
- Stays current with capabilities of current server and desktop operating systems and installed systems by researching and seeking out affordable support training options for the team.
- Keeps manager informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management.
- Coordinates and communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.
- Maintains an accurate inventory of desktop computing equipment, including serial numbers, licensing, and configuration information. Ensures inventory information is in a format that can be searched and reported on.
- Manages and mentors a team of system administrators, assigning tasks and overseeing their work.
- Provides technical guidance and support to team members.
- Conducts performance reviews and identify training needs for the team.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree, specialized IT training, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of desktop hardware and software support is required.
- 5+ years of related work experience in Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems and applications required.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware, Vsphere, HorizonView) required. Experience with Operating System Deployment required.
- Experience with Application packaging, maintenance, and deployment required.
- Experience with SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) preferred.
- Experience with Cloud Infrastructure systems (Azure,AWS,GCP,etc) preferred.
- Experience with IaaS and Paas preferred
- Experience with AWS or Azure migrations a plus
- (MCP) Microsoft Certified Professional or (MCSE) Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert
- Macintosh and Apple product experience in an enterprise setting a plus.
- Experience troubleshooting a wide variety of hardware and software problems and supporting end users.
- Excellent organizational skills and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of Company personnel.
- Availability and willingness to work irregular hours.
- Ability to be on a call rotation
