This position has responsibilities in 5 key areas, including: Technical Troubleshooting, Application Maintenance and Upgrades, Software Vendor/Partner Coordination, Analysis, and User Administration and Support. While this is a hybrid position, it must be based in Portland, Oregon or Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas.
Position responsibilities:
- Identify and resolve software application technical issues.
- Perform detailed data analysis across different solution modules as needed which may require data review in numerous system log files.
- Engage and work closely with software partners and manage services for Tier 3 support when issues cannot be resolved locally.
- Analyze and recommend new or revised software and procedures, including justifications for proposed changes.
- Align with department Software Development Life Cycle practices to analyze and to enhance applications. This includes formally gathering business requirements, writing specifications and/or user stories, and validating them with business, technical, and third-party solution partners.
- Work with end users to understand issues and needs.
- Determine information needs in coordination with personnel of user departments by drawing detailed flowcharts and block diagrams or applying other related methods.
- Assist in the evaluation of proposed changes to information processing, systems, and operations. Analyze program specifications for completeness and conformance to established standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and software partners on preparation and launch of new releases.
- Develop and maintain metrics on system performance trends that are shared with key stakeholders
- Assist with testing and system validation for system changes
- Manage, document, and perform assignments using the IT Department ticketing system.
- Perform after hours support as scheduled.
Position requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; at least 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of SQL, Java, and troubleshooting techniques and tools.
- Ability to use software tools for data profiling, data cleansing, data analysis, and data modeling.
- Ability to use the Internet, e-mail, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed with all job responsibilities.
- Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical users.
- Ability to diagnose and solve problems. Uses logic to solve difficult problems with effective solutions; probes all different sources for answers; can see hidden problems; is excellent at analysis; looks beyond the obvious and doesn't stop at the face value answers.

- Ability to learn quickly and become a subject matter expert in supply chain applications (WMS, automation middleware), tools, processes, and business needs
