Senior Incident Response Manager
W2 Contract
Salary Range: $145,600 - $166,400 per year
Location: Cupertino, CA - Hybrid Role
Job Summary:
As an Incident Response Manager, you will work alongside a team of SREs, Developers, and business partners with the express goal of rapid incident resolution while presenting progress and status to partners. You will communicate the status of events both internally and externally, influence technical specialists and various executives, and be the single point of contact for the incident. We require someone who excels at situational appraisal, problem analysis, and troubleshooting methodologies and has the authority and confidence to demand actions from various teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take end-to-end ownership of the management, communication, partner concern, investigation, and resolution of incidents, ensuring updates are timely and of sufficient quality.
- Work cross-functionally (internally and externally) to arrange offline discussions and provide key updates as needed.
- Create and manage escalation paths and trees with partners upstream, downstream, and internal and external to our organization.
- Maintain strong relationships with counterparts in the aforementioned organizations in the spirit of continuing to optimize processes.
- Employ strong facilitation and leadership skills, ensuring responding team members execute required actions under pressure; call out as appropriate when progress appears blocked.
- Keep incident documentation accurate and up to date with the appropriate tools for review in the retrospective meetings.
- Proactively analyze trends in incident and problem reports to assist in eliminating recurring incidents.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as an Incident Response Coordinator
- Experience and knowledge of major incident management processes both during and in post-incident analysis (coordination, reporting, trends over time)
- Broad technical knowledge and understanding of development, deployment, production operations, and networking concepts with the ability to communicate incidents clearly to business and leadership stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and business teams
- Able to work efficiently under pressure with minimal supervision
- Able to work effectively with all levels in an organization
- Demonstrated conflict and situation management skills
- Familiarity with ITIL Lifecycle and Agile methodologies is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
- Able to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays, as required
