Overview

The Lead Application Developer will be responsible for application systems analysis and programming activities across major projects, multiple smaller projects, or departmental initiatives. This role includes program design, development, unit testing, and defect resolution. The incumbent is expected to have strong expertise in software development methodologies, business problem analysis, system design, and systems integration.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Project Management:
• Define software and hardware requirements for application development projects.
• Oversee subordinate development staff, resources, and project execution.
• Assign personnel to projects, manage team activities, and evaluate performance.
• Leadership and Collaboration:
• Confer with stakeholders to define application software needs, establish priorities, and monitor progress.
• Provide technical leadership on complex projects and guide team members on policies, procedures, and technical challenges.
• Partner with IT management and staff to identify and address technology needs.
• Development and Maintenance:
• Lead the design, development, debugging, and performance tuning of supported applications and interfaces.
• Ensure proper documentation, data validation, system testing, and troubleshooting of IT applications.
• Provide ongoing maintenance and support for IT systems, incorporating both new and proven technologies to meet business requirements.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Observe system performance and proactively initiate necessary improvements.
• Promote the objectives and goals of the IT Department, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
• Reporting:
• Prepare activity and progress reports regarding system programming and development activities.
• Contribute to planning, organizing, and managing highly specialized technical areas.

• Perform related duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience: 10+ years of experience in developing and implementing IT solutions.
