Position Summary: The main function of a Software Design Engineer is to develop, implement, and document all testing activities, including test planning, test documentation, test execution, defect tracking and reporting, including follow-up and issue resolution.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Execute test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures
- Test system modifications to prepare for implementation
- Develop testing programs that addresses areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, or usability
- Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers
- Identify, analyze and document problems with program function, output, online screen or content
- Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes
- Create or maintain databases of known test defects
- Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates
Qualifications:
- Years of Experience Required: 3-5 overall years of experience in the field.
- Degrees or certifications required: none
- Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain familiarity with MS tools (azure devops, HLK), knowledge Wi-Fi at the application or network level, and familiarity with RF debugging tools: for example wireless sniffers (e.g. Wireshark, Wildpackets Omnipeek), and experience with Kernel Debugging and/or trace analysis for network analysis, (network monitor / Message Analyzer, xPerf, .etl, ETW, ...).
- Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on quality of work and meeting deadlines .
- Minimum 1+years experience with testing or development of WFI platforms.
- Minimum 1+years experience with Bluetooth protocols.
- Minimum 1+years experience with quality process (writing good bug reports, analyzing issues, and validating solutions).
