We are seeking a U.S. Operations Manager, reporting to the President of PRI. The Operations Manager has direct management responsibility for the leaders of Production, Inside Sales and Quality Assurance/HSE. In addition to overseeing the daily activities of the 15-20 employees in these groups, the Operations Manager has responsibility for ensuring a safe work environment, maximizing customer satisfaction, training and developing employees, managing expenses, and continually improving our processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure safe work environment by modeling and enforcing compliance with HSE policies and regulations.
- Oversee daily activities in Operations functions:
- Valve assembly/testing/automation/repair
- Component machining
- Shipping/receiving/inventory management
- Customer quotations
- Customer order and technical support
- Supplier management and procurement
- Product inspection
- Administration of Quality Management System
- Maintenance of production equipment
- Ensure disciplined use of ERP system and other tools and processes.
- Plan and maintain inventory levels in conjunction with Sales to meet customer service requirements.
- Monitor and manage expenses vs. budget.
- Achieve performance to goal on established Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
- Identify and pursue opportunities to improve profitability by improving processes and production equipment.
- Work effectively with other functions (Engineering, Outside Sales, Finance, HR) to align and drive initiatives to achieve business objectives.
- Oversee hiring and training of employees in areas of responsibility.
Qualifications
Required :
- B.S. degree, preferably in engineering or supply chain management, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years experience with increasing responsibility in a discrete-manufacturing or industrial-service environment, with at least 3 years of overall management responsibility for a facility or manufacturing cell.
- 3+ years of leadership experience in an ISO 9001 registered manufacturing or service environment.
- Experience managing operations, customer service/quotations, and procurement, including managing expenses to budget.
- Deep experience using an ERP system in a manufacturing or service environment.
- Intermediate-to-advanced skill with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
- Excellent communication, planning, organization, and team-leadership skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to new situations and changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and action orientation.
Preferred :
- Experience managing suppliers outside the USA.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices.
- Proven experience in successfully implementing quality improvement initiatives in an industrial manufacturing setting.
- Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise documentation.
- Proficiency in document management and version control tools.
