Korn Ferry has recently partnered with a global manufacturing company in a high-growth phase, with new greenfield site operations in North America. We are seeking a dynamic Logistics Manager to oversee all transportation management across two US sites and customer base. This role serves as a key liaison between production, sales, and customers while fostering a culture of safety, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. Full-time, onsite position (no remote workers please!)
Role Highlights:
- Lead transportation and freight processes for two USA plant operations within the company.
- Develop and implement comprehensive logistics plans to optimize goods flow, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Interact with dunnage packaging process team as requested to include training and some oversight as necessary.
- Work with cross-functional teams to align logistics activities with production schedules and customer demands.
- Provide strategic and tactical oversight of two sites as it pertains to Transportation Management. Select carriers, negotiate contracts, and monitor shipment schedules to ensure timely, cost-effective deliveries.
- Risk Mitigation: Develop contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptions.
- Budget & Cost Control: Create and manage logistics budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Manage, coach, and train direct reports, fostering teamwork and meeting KPIs.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement by establishing best practices, training staff, and exploring automation and software solutions.
- Track and report KPIs, anticipating and addressing performance deficiencies.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, including ISO 14001 and BRCGS guidelines.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Lead departmental meetings to review KPIs, productivity, and key initiatives.
- Participate in hiring processes as needed.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Background/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong leadership and team management experience within transportation to include process creation/process improvement, managing a department P&L, people leadership, vendor and carrier management (pertaining the freight movement) to include annual scorecard and RFP submittal process to ensure KPIs are met.
- Proven SAP experience preferred to include TMS tendering and carrier management software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas and data analysis.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively ~ role is best described as a working manager.
Preferred:
- APICS Certification.
- Experience in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
