Position Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney to handle complex cases involving allegations of medical negligence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical malpractice defense or related litigation experience, excellent writing skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with clients, experts, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in medical malpractice defense cases from inception through trial and appeal.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategy and client defense.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents including motions, briefs, and discovery requests.
  • Manage all aspects of case preparation, including depositions, expert witness coordination, and case strategy development.
  • Attend court hearings, trials, and settlement negotiations on behalf of clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide strategic legal advice.
  • Stay current with developments in medical malpractice law and related legal fields.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in Virginia with a valid license.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in medical malpractice defense or a related area of law preferred.
  • Proven track record of handling complex litigation and achieving favorable outcomes.
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Excellent oral advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills with ability to meet critical deadlines.
