Role: Associate Attorney (Federal Employment Law)
Location: Washington-D.C. (Remote or Hybrid—flexible)
Salary: $100-150K DOE
Description:
We are looking for an Associate Attorney for our law firm client to join their federal employment law team. Familiarity with representing federal employees in various federal administrative forums (EEOC, MSPB, OSC) specifically is strongly preferred. As an Associate, you will be responsible for managing a case docket, providing legal representation and advice to clients, conducting research, negotiating, and litigating cases in various administrative forums and federal courts.
Responsibilities:
-Practice before the EEOC, MSPB, OSC
-Engage in negotiation and settlement discussions
-Take depositions and witness examinations
-Prepare discovery requests and responses
-Writing oppositions to summary judgment
-While they generally settle their cases sometimes they go to trial
-Meet crunched deadlines that are different than the private sector
-Conduct legal research
-Analyze complex legal issues and provide sound advice
-Legal drafting and document review
Requirements:
-Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
-Admitted to practice law in any state
-Working knowledge of Federal Employment Law and the vocabulary
-Exposure to Federal Employment Law and exposure to practice before the EEOC, MSPB, OSC is highly preferred
