Starting pay at $27/hr

Location is in Horn Lake, MS

Position Scope:

• Possess extensive knowledge of various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, stick, and flux-cored welding.
• Demonstrate familiarity with welding codes, standards, inspection criteria, and safety protocols.
• Design, deliver, and evaluate lesson plans, exercises, and exams tailored to develop trainee proficiency.
• Assist in developing new courses and programs, regularly reviewing course feedback for improvement.
• Create an engaging and productive classroom environment, administering evaluations to track progress.
• Maintain detailed records of trainee assessments and monitor individual progress closely.
• Organize and manage lab supplies and equipment to ensure welding lab readiness and perform basic maintenance.
• Coordinate training efforts with training and production teams for cohesive instruction.
• Regularly review and update course materials, textbooks, and procedures to comply with OSHA and industry standards.
• Administer pre- and post-assessment tests to measure the effectiveness of training programs.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Certified Welding Educator (CWE) or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from the American Welding Society (AWS), with proof of certification required.
• High school diploma or GED, plus a minimum of 5 years of recent welding experience.
• At least 2 years of experience as an arc welding instructor.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in either teaching or industry training, or a combination of college-level instruction and industry training experience (substitutable on a year-for-year basis for recent welding field experience).
• Proficient in teaching blueprint reading and material layout skills.
• Ability to produce detailed, accurate reports on inspection conditions and outcome.
