Location is in Horn Lake, MS
Position Scope:
- Possess extensive knowledge of various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, stick, and flux-cored welding.
- Demonstrate familiarity with welding codes, standards, inspection criteria, and safety protocols.
- Design, deliver, and evaluate lesson plans, exercises, and exams tailored to develop trainee proficiency.
- Assist in developing new courses and programs, regularly reviewing course feedback for improvement.
- Create an engaging and productive classroom environment, administering evaluations to track progress.
- Maintain detailed records of trainee assessments and monitor individual progress closely.
- Organize and manage lab supplies and equipment to ensure welding lab readiness and perform basic maintenance.
- Coordinate training efforts with training and production teams for cohesive instruction.
- Regularly review and update course materials, textbooks, and procedures to comply with OSHA and industry standards.
- Administer pre- and post-assessment tests to measure the effectiveness of training programs.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Certified Welding Educator (CWE) or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from the American Welding Society (AWS), with proof of certification required.
- High school diploma or GED, plus a minimum of 5 years of recent welding experience.
- At least 2 years of experience as an arc welding instructor.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in either teaching or industry training, or a combination of college-level instruction and industry training experience (substitutable on a year-for-year basis for recent welding field experience).
- Proficient in teaching blueprint reading and material layout skills.
- Ability to produce detailed, accurate reports on inspection conditions and outcome.
