Summary
Hotel Herringbone, a distinctive boutique hotel and venue located in the heart of downtown Waco, is seeking an experienced and visionary General Manager to lead our dynamic team. As the General Manager, you will lead Hotel Herringbone in creating a culture of connection, collaboration,to create a culture of connection, collaboration and evolution for both personnel and patrons. Duties will include oversight and management of all systems and processes at Hotel Herringbone, including the operation and maintenance of guestrooms, food and beverage spaces and all event programming such as concerts, weddings, corporate meetings, large-scale celebrations and more. The ideal candidate will possess experience in the boutique hotel industry, including Hospitality Operations, Group Sales + Restaurant/Food & Beverage and will ensure the seamless operation of all hotel enterprises. Your leadership will drive the success of Hotel Herringbone and create exceptional experiences for our guests, staff and patrons.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage existing systems to ensure project completion related to all aspects of Hotel Herringbone and create new systems to improve operations.
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the entire property’s maintenance and improvement.
- Collaborate closely with the Food & Beverage management and teams to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
- Foster a culture of performance, excellence, positivity and guest-centricity among all staff members.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and standards to enhance staff and guest experiences and property performance.
- Oversee all aspects of event planning and coordination between all personnel of Hotel Herringbone to ensure seamless operation of all Hotel Herringbone programming. This includes marketing, promotion, and execution of events such as concerts, weddings, conferences, public plaza events and more.
- Lead the executive team, including department heads and key personnel.
- Monitor financial performance, budgeting, and forecasting to achieve revenue and profit goals.
- Drive sales and marketing efforts to promote the hotel, events, and dining concepts.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, partners, and the local community.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance property aesthetics, amenities, and offerings.
- Lead by example; fill in the gaps and demonstrate daily exceptional performance and leadership.
- Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business or hospitality management or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in the boutique and/or lifestyle hotel industry (ideally, some experience in the Texas market).
- Positive attitude and proven experience leading multiple teams servicing an eclectic array of clients throughout various business units.
- Strong leadership and management skills with a track record of achieving exceptional guest satisfaction + financial performance results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A master of managing, creating and improving systems to achieve a high level of consistent team performance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations, including rooms, food and beverage and groups/events.
- Financial acumen and experience in budgeting, forecasting, and profit optimization.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive growth and innovation.
- Flexibility in working hours, including nights and weekends.
- A commitment to delivering the highest standards of guest service and hospitality.
- Ability to analyze data and establish appropriate action plans.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to perform physical tasks – from cleaning to moving objects - as they relate to all business units and property improvement.
- Mobility to move around the property and assist with guest and team needs
HOURS & COMPENSATION
This is a full-time position with competitive compensation plus potential ownership incentives commensurate with experience. There is a comprehensive incentive program based on team + asset performance. The role requires a strong work ethic and flexibility in working hours to meet property demands.
