Job Description
Essential Functions
- Strategizes, manages, and continually refines the transportation operations of FFG MIA unit with the support of the Operations Manager
- Assigns daily tasks to the Shift Transportation Manager and the Supervisors for optimal operation on a day-to-day basis.
- Manages all transportation department personnel to ensure flights are serviced/catered- meeting customer requirements and preventing aircraft departure delays.
- Ensures all Transportation Leaders are attentive to last minute changes required by customer.
- Communicates with customers, shifts, and all internal departments to ensure the above level of customer satisfaction is achieved.
- Oversees and Manages vehicles/personnel for optimum utilization: control of manpower hours & overtime/truck rotations/scheduling preventive maintenance/vehicle washing.
- Ensures Transportation Team maintains optimum relationship with maintenance department.
- Maintains daily controls to reduce vehicle damage and vehicle fines.
- Responsible for the safety and security of all transportation related operations with the assistance of the Shift Transportation Manager
- Works in safe manner to prevent accidents to self and coworkers. Stresses safe working procedures to all employees daily.
- Immediately investigates, documents, and reports all on the job accidents following company safety procedures.
- Oversees the creation and proper documentation of required shift reports /driver logs/investigation & vehicle damage docs.
- Ensure Transportation Leaders communicate all related matters to personnel with daily debriefings
Skills and Qualifications
Superior interpersonal and communication skills
Outstanding Customer Service and Leadership skills
Solid overall knowledge of the transportation industry and logistics
3-4 years of experience working in logistics and/or Transport Management
Computer Savvy – Microsoft Office experience required
Airline Operations experience preferred
Bilingual English & Spanish preferred
Knowledge of HACCP, transportation-related government regulations, and FDA guidelines.
Ability to work well with team members and navigate stressful situations.
Valid CDL class B Driver’s License
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has supervisory responsibilities.

This job operates in a production and office environment. This role routinely uses
Standard office equipment, operates machinery and drives vehicles

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time exempt position in a 24/7/365 work environment.
Flexibility with weekdays, evenings and weekend required.
