Job Description: Sr Project Manager
Duration: 12+ months
Location: Seattle (Must be onsite 50%)
Project Details:
- Provides oversight for projects in PSE’s Virtual Power Plant (VPP) and Distributed Energy Resources (DER) space and consults with project, business, and IT leadership on best practices.
- Deep understanding of project and software development, Agile and ASAP methodologies and processes.
- Mentors and coaches lower-level project managers, business analysts, or other team members on project concepts and methodology.
- Develops and maintains scope and objectives for VPP/DER project systems requirements.
- This is a large capital project called Virtual Power Plant (VPP)
- The project is designed to support the business and marketing efforts to PSE customers for the sale and use of renewable energy devices.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years of experience as a Project Manager
- PMP, CSM, and CAPM are a plus but not required
- Must be able to understand the Dynamic of APIs and Integration programs
- MUST have Utility experience
- Virtual Power Plant Experience Preferred (VPP)
- Must be able to work in an ever-changing environment with many cross-functional teams.
- Need to be able to handle and prioritize difficult priorities from many stakeholders
- Must have a strong professional presence as this role will require heavy interaction with C-Suite executives.
- Customer-centric focus with demonstrated ability to apply insights to meet customer technology needs and improve IT maturity.
- Proven experience working independently and/or in a team environment to deliver on initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to drive for results to deliver against commitments.

- Applies advanced project management concepts and uses project management software to manage projects.
- Manages all aspects of medium to large projects throughout the project lifecycle including project scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality, and change. May participate in driving workstreams for large, complex projects.
- Translates project requirements into project objectives and tasks, managing task assignments to project resources and reporting on and managing project scope throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develops detailed project schedules, project estimates, resource plans, project financials, and status reports.
- Collaborates with resource managers to define and assemble project teams. Responsible for managing and assigning project work to team members for the duration of the project.
- Sets and manages client expectations, managing and escalating issues, risks, and changes.
- Facilitates team meetings to ensure effective business decisions are reached using knowledge of the team
- dynamics.
- Measures progress toward project goals and revises project objectives and documents by applying change control procedures.
- Communicates regularly to core team and key stakeholders to strengthen team member engagement and/or influence stakeholder opinion of the process or results.
- Identifies project risks and issues and determines mitigation/contingency strategies.
- Responsible for project vendor management. This includes defining the scope of work, aligning expectations, following established procurement procedures, and coordinating vendor activities.
- Proficiently applies IT methods, professional knowledge, and PSE standards and practices to complex tasks and situations.
Job Description:
- Manages the overall coordination, status reporting, financials, schedules, and stability of project-oriented work efforts, ensuring that project goals and objectives are met within agreed-upon time, scope, and resource requirements.
- Coordinates work performed by IT staff and internal customers/partners by defining project requirements, and performing feasibility and needs/impact assessments.
- Develops detailed project plans and manage all implementation processes including resource allocation, vendor/procurement management, risk management, progress tracking, monitoring change control process, testing, documentation, training, and on-time delivery within budget constraints.
- Coordinates elements of communication and change/process management related to organizational project outcomes as appropriate.
- Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.
