The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician at North Mississippi Health Services plays a critical role in providing patient care and safe transportation. This position involves triaging, treating, and transporting critically ill and injured patients, maintaining effective communication with the multidisciplinary team, and projecting a caring and friendly image to patients and customers. The technician must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, adhere to regulatory requirements, and possess the physical and mental capability to perform patient care and extrication under adverse conditions.
**JOB** **FUNCTIONS**
Patient Care:
* Utilizes skills to facilitate triage, treatment, and transport of critically ill and injured patients.
Transport:
* Provides safe appropriate level care transport of patients (emergency and routine).
Communication:
* Maintains appropriate radio/verbal communication with multidisciplinary team members to provide holistic care to patient.
Customer Relations:
* Projects caring, friendly and helpful image to patients and other customers.
Self Development:
* Maintain competency by staying informed of changing trends in Emergency Medical Service.
Regulatory Knowledge:
* Complies with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Required
Must maintain unit specific annual educational requirements- Required
Must possess valid National Registry Advanced - EMT Certificate-Required
