Technician


Location: Maces Bay, NB

Company: Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station

Duration: 1 Year (Annual Extension Possible)

Rate: $40 - $80 per hour

Seniority Level: Entry Level - Senior Manager Available

Per Diem:

  • $150/day (all-inclusive including HST) for >100km from PLNGS
  • $250/day (all-inclusive including HST) for >200km from PLNGS


Overview:

We are seeking qualified Technicians for various roles supporting critical projects at Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station. Successful candidates will work on diverse projects including:

  • Auxiliary Boiler Replacement
  • Water Treatment Plant Upgrades
  • Large Transformer Replacement
  • Elevator Replacement
  • Switchgear Replacement
  • Motor Control Center (MCC) Replacement
  • Moisture Separator Reheater (MSR) Upgrade
  • Process Monitoring PLC Installations
  • Warehouse Upgrades
  • Buildings and Structures Repairs, Designs, or New Facility Construction
  • Ventilation Repairs/Modifications
  • Seismic Analysis


Qualifications and Levels:


T1 – Entry Level Technician

  • Prepare uncompleted or repetitive drawings.
  • Maintain drawing files and assist with field surveys.
  • Perform tasks according to standardized procedures under close supervision.
  • Minimal independent judgment required.


T2 – Junior Technician

  • Support engineering personnel in field, design, or CAD drafting activities.
  • Perform clearly defined tasks according to standardized procedures.
  • Conduct straightforward computational work using standard formulas and manuals.
  • Technologist certification.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience.


T3 – Intermediate Technician

  • Assist in field, design, drawing production, construction specifications, and quality control.
  • Perform defined assignments with some independent judgment.
  • Provide technical advice to less experienced technicians in specialty areas.
  • Technologist certification.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience.


T4 – Senior Technician

  • Complete design tasks or complex CAD assignments under minimal supervision.
  • Perform field quality control functions and analyze technical problems.
  • Provide technical advice or supervise junior technicians.
  • Verify accuracy and adequacy of work.
  • Technologist certification.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience.


T5 – Senior Specialist Technician

  • Achieve recognition as a specialist in technical fields relevant to the utility business.
  • Supervise or indirectly oversee technical staff.
  • Undertake independent project-related functions, prepare production and progress reports, and verify others' work.
  • Additional specialized training.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience.


T6 – Senior Manager Technical

  • Supervise and review complex technical work.
  • Develop standards and guidelines.
  • Senior-level certification.
  • Minimum 20 years of experience.
