Our client in the automotive industry is seeking a Mechanical Engineer- Facilities/Building & Infrastructure to join their team. As a Mechanical Engineering, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting the first of three large industrial manufacturing plants being built in Alliston, ON! In this groundbreaking project, you will lead the design and selection of cutting-edge HVAC systems and support the carbon-neutral initiatives while directly contributing to the company's environmental responsibility and technological advancements.

What's the Job?

• Design HVAC mechanical systems based on manufacturing plant need; create design drawings, review external designs, and oversee the install
• Work closely with facilities specializing in HVAC, compressed air systems, and large project execution to develop specifications for various mechanical components and systems
• manage industrial building design or modification projects, ensuring they meet all technical specs and standards
• Oversee all stages of project management, including design, specification, installation, and scheduling
• Review/approve design drawings, and ensuring Code Compliance (building codes and specs, including BTSA, TSSA)
• oversee the flow of energy within mechanical systems ensuring optimal performance and efficiency
• create detailed mechanical designs and maintain clear documentation for compliance purposes
• Schedule and plan project work
• ensure smooth commissioning and handover processes for completed projects

What's Needed?

• University Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Industrial building design
• Solid understanding of Building codes and technical specs
• HVAC design, install and commission experience
• Spec writing and development
• New technology relating to Carbon Neutral initiatives (preferred)
• Combined Heat and Power (CHP) experience (preferred)
• Geothermal technology exp as it relates to industrial buildings (preferred)
• Cooling Tower technology and design experience (preferred)
• Absorption Chiller technology (preferred)
• Energy modelling (preferred)
• Facilities operation systems(preferred)
• Heat pumps, chillers, boilers, pumps compressors, dryers (preferred)
• Willing and able to travel internationally and to the US
• PEng or EIT
