The Director, Fleet Analytics is responsible for providing Fleet Analytics design and consulting within the Mirlin Fleet Analytics team. This role requires deep expertise in commercial vehicle tractor, trailer, refrigeration unit, lift gate, bulk transport and related maintenance, with specialized skills and experience in tire programs, fuel management and strategies, including overall fleet maintenance cost reduction initiatives. The ideal candidate will leverage their experience and expertise, using data-driven insights to design actionable insights and recommendations within the Mirlin Analytics toolsets to help fleet customers develop and implement strategies that improve vehicle uptime, utilization, safety, and regulatory compliance, all while driving down maintenance costs.

Technical Skills Required for this Position:

• Commercial Vehicle Maintenance: proficiency in the maintenance and repair of commercial vehicles, including trucks, trailers, and refrigeration units.

• Licensed Truck Technician: holding a valid truck technician license, with hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing commercial vehicles.

• Analytical Skills in Truck, Trailer, Refrigeration Unit, Lift Gate, Bulk Tanker (Chemical, Fuel, other) Maintenance: Ability to analyze maintenance data, identify trends, and develop predictive maintenance strategies to reduce downtime and costs.

• Tire Program Creation and Management: Expertise in developing, implementing, and managing tire programs, focusing on optimization, performance tracking, and cost-effectiveness.

• Fuel Strategies and Efficiency Optimization: Experience in analyzing fuel consumption data and developing strategies to improve fuel efficiency and manage fuel costs.

• Maintenance Cost Reduction Initiatives: Skills in identifying cost-saving opportunities within maintenance operations and implementing initiatives to achieve cost reductions.

• Continuous Improvement Strategies: Proficiency in developing and implementing continuous improvement strategies to enhance overall fleet performance and efficiency.

• Vehicle Uptime and Utilization Improvement: Expertise in strategies to increase vehicle uptime and improve fleet utilization through data analysis and operational adjustments.

• Safety Improvement and Accident Reduction: Ability to analyze safety data, develop safety programs, and implement measures to reduce preventable accidents.

• Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of regulatory requirements for commercial vehicle operations and the ability to ensure compliance through regular audits and updates.

• Data Analysis and Reporting: Proficiency in using data analysis tools and techniques to generate comprehensive reports, dashboards, and actionable insights.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Skills in coordinating and collaborating with different departments to ensure alignment of analytical initiatives with business goals.

• Training and Mentorship: Experience in developing training materials and programs, as well as mentoring team members to enhance their analytical and technical skills.

• Innovation: Keeping current with emerging technologies in commercial vehicle industry.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience and proven success a Fleet Manager or Director
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or relevant field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with business processes, lean process optimization principles, is considered an asset.
• Personal interest in and mechanical aptitude of passenger or commercial vehicle maintenance is considered an asset.
