Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated application engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities and strong interpersonal and communication skills. As an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for technical support of existing products and helping customers in selecting products based on their application requirements. Where practical you will propose, design and implement customized solutions using existing products for our clients or internal teams.


The successful candidate will:

·      Address technical issues concerning existing product lines for internal and external customers.

·      Design, develop, test, and deploy solutions according to customer specifications.

·      Conduct product cross references for industrial connectors and automation products

·      Investigate and log matters related to quality assurance

·      Assist in configuring safety controllers and HMI applications to meet client needs.

·      Conduct occasional presentations and trainings for internal and external customers

·      Occasional travel may be required for meetings with customers in Canada & USA


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, CET, or related relevant experience

 

Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in the role of Applications Engineer in industrial automation and controls


First-hand experience with:


  • DIN rail terminal blocks, industrial connectors, PCB terminals
  • Power supplies, Ethernet switches and HMI
  • Industrial functional safety controllers, sensors and relevant standards.
  • Knowledge of related sections of UL, CSA, CEC and NEC preferred.


  • Proven experience in application engineering, project management
  • Design and assembly of electrical cabinets and connectors for industrial and commercial application.
  • Design, manufacture and quality control of electrical cord and harness manufacturing
  • Electrical power distribution and design of buildings (residential, commercial and industrial)
  • AutoCAD
  • REVIT, e-plan and wire harness software experience is a PLUS.


Expertise:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong time management skills to balance multiple priorities and provide timely responses in a fast paced environment.
  • English (A MUST), French, Spanish and German are desirable
  • Ability to work autonomously and make decisions with minimal supervision
  • This is a full time in-office 5 days a week position
  • Hands on experience with control cabinet assembly
  • Highly proficient in MS Office
