If you're ready for a new challenge, Crestline is seeking an Electrical Technologist to join our Engineering Team. In this role, you will dive into the creation and maintenance of precise electrical designs and schematics, ensuring adherence to stringent company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Your skills will be pivotal in crafting robust 12 VDC and 120/240VAC electrical systems, addressing de-rating standards, and enhancing system reliability. Collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional teams, you'll be embedded within their engineering team to aid the development of standard electrical components and wire harnesses, streamlining design processes and standardization across our client’s product portfolio.

You'll lead initiatives to identify and implement continuous improvements, fostering a culture of excellence and adaptability within the engineering framework. From conceptualization to execution, your critical thinking and problem-solving talent will be instrumental in optimizing production efficiency and maximizing product quality. Your role extends beyond the design phase, encompassing collaboration your team, compliance engineers, offering production and service support, and contributing to a dynamic, results-driven environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Electrical Technologist, you will:

- Collaborate with engineers to create and maintain feasible, robust designs and schematics that meet:Accepted Crestline Engineering/QMS standards.
- Internal/external customer requirements
- OEM chassis requirements
- Regulatory and statutory requirements
- Exemplary standards of fit and finish for efficient manufacturing
- Coordinate and incorporate feedback from customers, suppliers, and internal teams to continuously improve product quality, reduce costs, enhance delivery time, and increase customer satisfaction. This includes procuring subcontracted materials, optimizing business processes using Lean principles, utilizing marketing suggestions and customer feedback, leveraging Quality Cost and Delivery Metrics (QCD), and collaborating with the Product Development team to incorporate production efficiency in early design stages.
- Be part of the design and maintenance of accurate electrical designs, drawings, schematics, and harnesses that meet company standards, customer requirements, OEM chassis requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Ensure compliance with 12 VDC and 120/240VAC electrical systems standards.
- Support the development of standard electrical system components and wire harnesses to reduce lead time.
- Programme embedded systems for vehicle functions.
- Drive standardization and apply engineering analysis.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide support for compliance testing and certification.
QUALIFICATIONS
As the Electrical Technologist you will bring:
- An engineering technology diploma in design and manufacturing engineering or electrical engineering technology or equivalent.Post-Secondary education in engineering is an asset.
- All items showing an experience level in this list are classified as an asset with experience in the classroom/workshop considered.
- Proficiency and/or working knowledge in ECAD tools and drafting principles.
- A working knowledge of PDM or PLM systems.
- Experience in electrical design and integration.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and design principles.
- Flexibility for design variations, tweaking, modifications.
- Troubleshooting, critical thinking, and complex problem-solving mentality.
- Practical experience in cable fabrication and testing.
- An agile and adaptable mindset with a strong sense of urgency.
- An ability to visualize and form a concept with originality.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- A highly self-motivated attitude with a keen attention to detail and solid decision-making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
- Vehicle design, Automotive and specialty vehicle electronics experience is beneficial.
- Understanding of vehicle CAN bus systems.
- Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing.
